June Release Rollup: File and Folder Shortcuts, PDF Viewer and More

This month's release rollup includes file and folder shortcuts, updates to the PDF viewer, and redesigns to the configuration settings for WebUI. Below is an overview of these and other new releases. Visit the linked articles for more details. 

Featured Platform Enhancements and Releases 

File and Folder Shortcuts (Limited Availability) - Egnyte's new, OS-independent shortcut feature simplifies and streamlines navigation to desired files and folders. Create shortcuts in the WebUI or Desktop App and seamlessly access them on mobile, desktop, or web UI platforms. Learn more

PDF Viewer  - Egnyte's new PDF Viewer brings improved features like high-quality rendering, document search, annotations panel, thumbnail and outline views, attachment viewing, and enhanced printing. Learn more

PDF Editor - Egnyte's new PDF Editor (available as an add-on to all platform plans) enables users to annotate PDFs directly from the WebUI. It also provides tools for form filling and PDF creation. Learn more

Microsoft Co-Editing on Android - Android users can start or join co-editing sessions using compatible Microsoft Office apps. Learn more

Content Safeguard Policy Update - Admins can implement a folder-only blocking restriction policy to enforce link sharing controls at both the folder and file levels, including newly added files and subfolders. Learn more

WebUI Redesign -  A redesign of configuration settings is part of the multiphase WebUI redesign process, with intuitive toggle switch radio buttons and a consistent purple color theme for checkboxes, offering an improved user experience. Learn more

Trash Management Update - Admins can set trash and retention policies, allowing users to delete files and folders and move them to the Trash folder and restore them before permanent deletion. Read the FAQs to learn more. 

Connected Folders - Users can connect shared locations with private cloud folders to synchronize and make them accessible to others. However, permission restrictions and changes could affect folder connections. Learn more

360 Image Preview - iOS app users can explore panoramic photos and navigate every angle with 360 image previews. Additionally, they can create and share upload links for specific shared folders, allowing external contributors to share files. Learn more.

Egnyte for AEC 

Newforma Integration - Newforma customers can now migrate on-premises project content to the cloud. Automated detection and direct uploads keep Newforma operational during the migration. Post-migration, IT teams can convert UNC paths to Egnyte's Smart Cache to effectively manage on-premise storage growth. Read more in the blog.

Egnyte for Life Sciences 

GxP Compliance Portal - Admins can now create a role granting power user access to the GxP Compliance Portal, giving power users easy access to view and download relevant documents from the portal. Learn more.  

eTMF Import - CROs and sponsors can now import TMF data from completed studies stored in other eTMF applications into the Egnyte eTMF system leveraging the exchange mechanism standards (EMS). Learn more.
